Religious Holidays
The UNLV course catalog states:
"Any student missing class quizzes, exams or any other class or lab work because of observance of religious holidays shall be given an opportunity during that semester to make up missed work. The make up will apply to religious holiday absence only." It shall be the responsibility of the student to notify the instructor of their intention to participate in religious holidays that do not fall on state holidays or period of class recess.
Academic Integrity
Cheating in any manner will not be tolerated. Any student involved in academic dishonesty will receive a zero for the assignment or test for the first instance. Any further instances of academic dishonesty will result in a failing grade for the course. Cheating includes copying computer projects, exams, quizzes and group work on individual projects. The student that allows his/her work to be copied or does work for another individual will be subject to the same penalty.
Late Assignments
All assignments are due at the beginning of the class period. Late assignments will only be accepted for documented university sponsored trips, documented medical reasons or a documented family emergency. Always make a second copy of your assignment to keep for your personal records.
Tests
Tests are only given on the day scheduled. If you have to miss an exam you will need a documented event listed in the previous paragraph to make it up. If you do not have a documented reason you can make up the points by writing a 5 page paper on a topic determined by the instructor. The paper should be double spaced, 12 point font, with one inch margins on all sides. You must have 2 references per page (10 different references) and no more than 5 can be Internet or web site references. It is due one week after the missed test. You must also turn in a copy of ALL the sources and references that you used.
Disability Resource Center
If you have a documented disability that may require assistance, you will need to go to the Disability Resource Center (DRC) for coordination of your academic accommodations. The DRC is located in the Reynolds Student Services Building Room 137. The phone is 895-0866, TDD is 895-0652 and the e-mail address is drcssc@ccmail.nevada.edu.
